What Does It Mean to Represent Numbers?
Numbers can be shown in many different ways!
We can write them as digits (like 5), as words (like "five"), with our fingers, with objects, or even on
a number line. Learning all these ways helps us understand numbers better!
Ways to Show Numbers
1️⃣ Digits: Like 1, 2, 3...
2️⃣ Words: Like "one", "two", "three"...
3️⃣ Objects: Like 5 apples or 10 blocks
4️⃣ Fingers: Holding up fingers to show a number
5️⃣ Number Line: Pointing to the number on a line

Parent Tips 🌟
- Make it real: Count everyday objects like stairs, toys, or snacks to help connect numbers to real life.
- Use different representations: Show the same number as digits, words, and objects to strengthen understanding.
- Play number games: Try "I Spy" with numbers or have your child help set the table (counting plates and forks).
